Instagram is in the process of testing out a new feature that allows you to view your feed in a myriad of different ways, and the company may even offer more control over the presentation of your content.
As Tweeted by Silicon Valley insider Allesandro Paluzzi, Instagram is considering the concept of editing your profile grid to show images & videos in any order you like.
As you can see in the screenshot above, Palluzi is showing off the ‘Edit Grid’ feature, which would allow you to reorder content through a drag and drop process. Imagine being able to reorganize your content, adding your best work at the top of your page, and even hiding less relevant posts further into your feed. As we know, those first two rows are critical to your brand.
The leak comes a week after Instagram chief, Adam Mosseri, confirmed that the app is preparing to add two new feeds for users.
The new feed options are titled ‘Favorites’ & ‘ Following.’ Similar to Facebook, Favorites lets you select specific accounts for viewing, whereas Following brings back the previous chronological feed (allowing you to view posts from people you follow in the order they’re posted.) The ‘Home’ feed is also being tweaked to introduce accounts that you don’t currently follow that you may enjoy.
“It’s important to me that people feed good about the time that they spend on the app, and I think giving people ways to shape Instagram into what’s best for them is one of the best ways to pursue that goal,” – Mosseri
How can this new Instagram feature help law firms’? Picture your most essential posts always at the top of your page. If those posts take priority, you could drag and drop as you see fit. You are no longer locked into the grid forever.
Do you think Instagram should run with this new feature? Can you see this helping your firms’ page? We believe this would be a game-changer for businesses making a name for themselves on Instagram and also adds a creative way to play with new ways to catch the attention of your audience.
